A Main Floor Transformation for Becki & Jeff
We love being a part of our clients’ home journeys, and working with Becki and Jeff has been a truly special experience. We built their home back in 2005 and had the privilege of completing some updates for them five years ago—lightening up the countertops, upgrading the sink, and replacing the appliances. This year, they were ready for a major overhaul, and we were excited to bring their vision to life!
All-New Flooring for a Fresh Look
Becki and Jeff decided to go with tile throughout the main floor, an excellent choice given how often they use their pool during the summer. The larger 2x4 foot tile not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home but also makes cleaning a breeze with fewer grout lines. We also tore out the carpet in the office and extended the tile into that space, creating a seamless and cohesive look throughout the home.
Positioned right at the front of the house, this space had unintentionally become a drop zone for everything—mail, bags, miscellaneous items—making it feel more like a catch-all than a productive workspace. Becki and Jeff wanted to reclaim the room’s true purpose and create a functional home office that would be both organized and inviting.
Key Benefits of the New Tile Flooring:
Water-resistant and durable, perfect for their poolside lifestyle.
Larger tiles mean fewer grout lines, making it easier to clean and maintain.
A uniform look throughout the house, eliminating transitions between rooms.
A Functional & Stylish Laundry/Mud Room
Storage and organization were key factors in updating the laundry/mud room, especially given it’s location right off the garage and kitchen. We installed new custom cabinetry and designed a shoe cabinet that extends all the way to the ceiling—maximizing storage space while maintaining a clean, streamlined look. To enhance the flow between rooms, we also opened up the pocket door between the mud room and kitchen, making the space feel more open and connected.
Laundry/Mud Room Enhancements:
Custom cabinetry for better organization.
A boot/shoe cabinet extending to the ceiling, adding extra storage.
Pocket door removal, improving access between the kitchen and mud room.
A Surprise Powder Room Update
Midway through the project, Becki and Jeff decided to refresh their powder room as well. We were happy to accommodate this addition, ensuring that the space matched the fresh, modern look of the rest of the remodel!
It’s always a pleasure to work with clients who are friends, like Becki and Jeff, and we’re grateful for the trust they’ve placed in Mega Remodel over the years. If you’re considering a remodel—whether it’s a full transformation or targeted updates—we’d love to help you bring your vision to life!
